Replacing a 36" to 42" refractory-lined CO line is challenging enough. Doing it with limited overhead clearance and obstructions below? That’s a different level of complexity. The project required removing and replacing the CO line quickly and safely. With overhead clearance too tight for crane lifts and obstructions below ruling out jack and slide operations, we had to think differently. Our team engineered a plan using a Self-Propelled Modular Transporter (SPMT) combined with a stinger clamp system—a setup designed to handle the clearance limitations and ensure safer conditions at elevated heights. Despite the complexities, we mobilized and executed the plan ahead of schedule.
