Bridging the Gap

Bridging the Gap

A Span Above the Rest

For most people, a bridge is simply a way to get from one place to another. For the crews building new infrastructure at Wasatch Peaks Ranch in Morgan, Utah, it's the result of careful planning, teamwork, and a series of precisely executed heavy lifts.

Recently, Mountain Crane partnered with Dick Anderson Construction to install bridge girders for a new bridge that will provide key access as development continues at Wasatch Peaks Ranch.

Engineered for the Lift

The project involved setting bridge girders measuring approximately 200 feet long and weighing nearly 100,000 pounds each. Adding to the complexity, the girders were fabricated with a negative camber—an intentional upward curve engineered to account for deflection once the bridge is complete and carrying traffic.

While essential to the bridge's long-term performance, the unique shape required careful planning, specialized rigging, and precise load control throughout every stage of the lift. Components of this size and geometry demand more than crane capacity—they require experience, communication, and attention to every detail.

Precision in Every Pick

Using our Liebherr LTM 1750 at a 130-foot working radius, with a Liebherr LTM 1095 serving as the assist crane, the Mountain crew carefully maneuvered each girder into its final position, ensuring every pick was executed safely and exactly as engineered.

Bridge work leaves little room for error. Every pick requires detailed lift planning, precise execution, and an unwavering commitment to safety from everyone involved.

Building What Comes Next

Projects like this showcase the versatility of our team and equipment. Whether lifting bridge girders, erecting structural steel, or supporting major infrastructure projects, Mountain Crane is proud to provide reliable lifting solutions that help build the communities where we live and work.

As construction progresses at Wasatch Peaks Ranch, these massive girders will become the backbone of a bridge that will serve the growing development for years to come. We're proud to have partnered with Dick Anderson Construction on another successful project and look forward to seeing the finished bridge connect people and places for generations to come.
