The Sinclair Wyoming Refinery processes over 94,000 barrels of oil per day—and when the most critical piece of the refinery needed to be replaced, they called Mountain.
At the heart of this operation was the replacement of a regenerator head, a massive and complex task that only takes place about once every 20 years. The regenerator head is essential to the operation of a refinery because it handles the intense heat and pressure at the top of the unit that cleans and recycles catalyst, keeping the refinery running efficiently, safely, and without constant replacements of expensive materials. To lift and position this massive structure, Mountain deployed the LR 1750, one of the most powerful crawler cranes in the industry with a lift capacity of 825 tons. The sheer scale and precision of the lift underscored the team's technical excellence and logistical planning.
After several months in the making, the replacement head was installed with expert efficiency—thanks to Mountain's skilled crews and state-of-the-art equipment.
